Nitz Associates was founded in April 2002 by Frederic W. Nitz to develop, manufacture, and market electronic measuring instruments for recording, analyzing and displaying the various parameters of liquid storage tanks and associated pipeline distribution systems.

Key Personnel

Frederic W. Nitz – President & CEO

Mr. Nitz was the co-owner and Executive Vice President of Reliable Power Meters, a company he founded in 1991.  He was responsible for all aspects of engineering, manufacturing and finance. Included in these tasks were the management of electronic, mechanical and software design.  He was also responsible for the management of customer service, finance and all functions of operations and manufacturing.

Before founding Reliable Power Meters Mr. Nitz was the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Basic Measuring Instruments.  In this capacity he was responsible for the design, development and manufacturing of all of the products that were sold by the company.

Prior to that he was Director of Engineering at EG&G Geometrics where he supervised the design and development of rugged, portable geophysical instruments.  Products designed over 20 years ago personally by Mr. Nitz and also under his supervision are still being sold today.

This wide blend of experience has provided Mr. Nitz with the unique expertise of a good understanding of semiconductor technology and environmentally hardened instrumentation as well as a strong background in operations and manufacturing,. These are the essential elements necessary for the design and production of the Nitz Associates rugged industrial and portable products.

Mr. Nitz holds eleven United States Patents related to instrument measurement techniques and design.

Mr. Nitz has a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering from California State Polytechnic University.  He is also a graduate of the AeA/Stanford University intensive MBA program for select senior executives.
